1993 (Volume 5)

It was a good year for the Review; it was a sad year. In August we received word from Columbia Scholastic Press Association that we had won the Medalist Award, winning All-Columbian Honors for superior achievement in concept, content, design and creativity. As a result, we were nominated for the Gold and Silver Crown Awards.

In October our editorial consultant, our advisor, Sister Clo Weirich died. She was with us from the beginning, encouraging us, sharing her insights and visions, attending meetings even though she wasn't feeling the best.

In an interview with Clo a few years earlier, she said, "My poetry rises out of my love of life, my depth of feelings, and my reactions to what others experience." Clo will live on in the poetry she gave us. We share one of her poems with you — Earth, Hear My Prayer (page 3).
