1991 (Volume 3)
As we go to press, the war in the Gulf continues on. The bombs are dropping and on the news we hear reports of Scud missiles, F-15s and Patriot anti-missile rockets. We are very familiar with these terms. In all this we have to put out a magazine. Why does it matter?
"If we have to declare who we are, let us do it with art and not with bombs," says poet Phil Hey. And William Carlos Williams says, "The work an artist has to do is the most important creation of civilization ... the only thing that remains unchanged and unchangeable is the work of art."
Thus, we continue on with a deeper sense of importance of what we do. Welcome to the third issue of The Briar Cliff Review.
